My Cubes and Cubes I’m Involved with

Here are my cubes and cubes that I’m involved with the curation of.

Cubes I’m involved with:

My Cubes:

  • “Usman’s Cube” – my personal cube. It’s a cube that’s in the space between modern and legacy, eschewing unfair things, as they tend to result in pretty bad gameplay patterns. It used to have power and I’ve had it since 2008.
  • 2010 Cube (Time Capsule) – a cube using Worldwake as the latest set (which was the cutoff when I wrote my first cube design article,) using principles if I were to create a cube now.
  • $100 cube – a cube designed to have a budget of $100. Mostly a proof of concept at this time, as I created it a while ago and didn’t update it since. That’ll likely change.
  • The MTGO Ravnica Cube – a Spotlight Series cube created for MTGO in 2022. I’ll write an article about it eventually.
  • Roguelike – more a concept of an alternate drafting method. Still very much a work in progress.
  • Usman’s Pauper Cube – no longer updated, since I work on “The Pauper Cube” and I don’t really see the need to have my own variant anymore, since I mainly created it out of frustration with the then-direction of Adam’s list.
  • Usman’s Premiere Cube – The Eternal Durdles podcast talked about a format, “Premiere” which was Legacy but where every card had to go through Standard, so it wouldn’t have things like Guide of Souls. Mostly a proof of concept that I don’t really see the need to update.
